Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took her skills, she placed second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. She became the youngest world champion of 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
