Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh,
North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father Ira David Wood III is a
theatre actor and writer, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting
coach. Her brothers older than her are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood
IV who have also been actors. Evan as well as her brothers appeared at Theatre
In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the director.
At the age of five she auditioned against Kirsten Dunst to play the lead part
in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long
auditioning process. Along with her mom and brother Ira they moved to Los
Angeles in 1996. Since the time, she has seen the success of television shows
films on TV and feature films. She has appeared in Practical Magic (1998) and
also starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She followed
that with Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her performance as Tracy
in "Thirteen," which she starred in the film, earned her a nomination
at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress: Drama and a nomination
from Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By an Actress Female
in the Leading Role. When she received the award from SAG she was the most youthful
actress to be nominated in the Leading Role category. Her role in the role of
Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011) brought her an Emmy
nomination and a Golden Globe award. Also, acclaim was awarded to her role as
Stephanie (Mickey Rourke’s ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler
(2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Little sister
of Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a dancer who has been trained. She
is a lover of dancing to sing, rollblade, as well as horseback riding. She
holds the black belt from tae kwon do. Keeps in touch with a majority of her
