Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also known as Emma,
was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She is the daughter of
Krista Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a homemaker as well as Jeffrey Charles
Stone (CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and chief executive
officer). Stone is of Swedish, German & British Isles descent. Stone
started acting when she was a young member of the Valley Youth Theatre in
Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in a production of Kenneth
Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". As a teenager, Stone was a part
of numerous shows before she decided to make acting her profession. As per the
official version of the story she performed her PowerPoint slide show that was
made possible by Madonna's Hollywood and dubbed "Project Hollywood"
in an effort to persuade her parents to let her to drop out of school and move
to Los Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, she and her mom moved to
LA. She continued to study at home, and also auditioned. Her TV debut came when
she was chosen to play Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In Search of
the Partridge Family (2004). The show led to a variety of minor TV roles over
the years. After a number of performances she was then able to take on the role
of Jules in Superbad (2007). Her stardom was as Olive in Easy A (2010) followed
by several more roles. She attended Xavier College Preparatory, Phoenix,
Arizona. While she is famous for being a redhead, her natural hair color is
blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested she change her natural hair color
for Superbad (2007). The movie was so well-received that she chose to keep her
hair. At the age of 15, she persuaded her parents she could make the move to
Hollywood. The way she did this was by creating a PowerPoint presentation
entitled Project Hollywood. She began her career in acting at 11 years of age
at the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, where she was a part of more than
16 performances on stage as well as performing the theatre's comedy improv
troupe. Caylee Cowan also appeared at the Valley Youth Theatre.
